I have an interview here at time of the theives, a blog you should all keep tabs on.

I am in the process of opening a print shop.

I am also in the process of converting an old room into a darkroom! Nearly complete!

I hope everyone is doing splendidly in the springtime weather.

As time quickly attempts to escape us, we mustn’t take for granted those things which are most meaningful. What are those meaningful things anyway? What creates the whole? Time never changes, only our perception of it does. Is the perception what causes time to speed up or slow down? Nothing matters to me without there being substance found within the event, person, phrase, gesture, etc. Everything has its reason for existing. How easy is it to understand those reasons?…how difficult?
This sensitivity causes me to study everything with the intention of understanding its worth and its purpose. Sometimes doing such study can become quite the determining factor for one’s own condition in my perspective.
Why do I take photos? Why do I derive enjoyment for doing such a thing? Is it the thrill of the instantaneous moment? Is it the reward and satisfaction of a shot well done? Is it because I can see my world so much better and with a richer appreciation? The answer to these questions is, “yes”, and “well, sort of”. I am sentimentally wired. I am drawn and attached to much of what I encounter and photograph. Once I photograph something, it’s almost as if I have developed an eternal relationship with whatever it was, for better or for worse. It doesn’t matter if I never see that person or thing again, because I have collected what it had to share in that particular moment. I admire what I photograph. I see something fascinating and I want to understand it and be connected to it in some way. When I photograph something, I do it so I can know it. There is a revelation of knowledge and of detail that I may never come to find without taking a photograph. Photographing individuals creates this unspoken relationship. Through the camera, I am able to connect with the subject matter on a level that is quite different than that of an analytical level. There is a metaphysical connection that happens through photography.
